1. Who is responsible for your information
Fundación por la Arquitectura Inc, a non-profit corporation organised in Puerto Rico with offices at 225 Del Parque Street, San Juan, 00912, Puerto Rico, is the entity responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Our Director of Administration & Compliance administers privacy matters and can be reached at eldon-clarkekzxk@gmx.com or +1-502-365-1120.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us directly: your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, professional affiliation, and the content of messages, volunteer applications, research submissions and event registrations you send us.
Donor and sponsorship information: the amount, date and designation of a contribution, together with the billing details required to process it. Card and bank credentials are handled by our payment processor and are never stored on our servers.
Technical information: standard server log data such as IP address, browser type, referring page and timestamps, retained for security and aggregate traffic analysis.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Minors participating in youth workshops are enrolled by a parent or guardian, and we retain only the information necessary for supervision, safety and attendance reporting.
3. Why we use it
To respond to enquiries and provide the archive, guidance and consultation services you request.
To administer event registration, course enrolment, volunteer participation and research submissions.
To acknowledge contributions, issue receipts and meet the reporting obligations attached to grants and charitable status.
To send programme updates where you have asked to receive them; every message includes an unsubscribe link.
To protect the security and integrity of our systems and archive.
4. Legal basis and standards
We process personal information in accordance with applicable Puerto Rico law, including the Commonwealth's citizen information security and data-breach notification requirements, and with applicable United States federal privacy standards. Where a contributor or participant is located in a jurisdiction granting additional rights, we honour those rights so far as applicable law permits.
5. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share donor lists with other organisations.
We disclose information only to service providers acting on our instructions under written confidentiality terms (for example payment processing, email delivery and information technology support); to auditors and grantmakers where a funding agreement requires verification, in aggregate or anonymised form wherever possible; and where disclosure is required by law, court order or a lawful government request.
6. Archive submissions and public credit
Research, drawings, photographs and community proposals submitted for inclusion in the public archive are published with the contributor's name credited, unless the contributor asks in writing to be credited anonymously. Contact details attached to a submission are never published. Contributors may withdraw an unpublished submission at any time; published archive records may be annotated or corrected but are generally retained as part of the historical record.
7. Retention
Enquiry correspondence is retained for three years. Event and course records are retained for five years for outreach reporting. Donor and financial records are retained for seven years to satisfy fiscal and grant audit requirements. Server logs are retained for twelve months. Archive submissions accepted into the public record are retained indefinitely as documentary heritage.
8. Security
Access to personal information is restricted to staff whose duties require it. Data in transit is encrypted, records are backed up, and administrative access is logged. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify affected individuals and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable law.
9. Cookies
This website uses only the cookies and local storage necessary for the site to function, including remembering your language preference. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not permit third-party advertising trackers on this site.
10. Your choices
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask for corrections, withdraw consent to programme communications, or request deletion of information that we are not legally or contractually required to retain. Write to eldon-clarkekzxk@gmx.com and we will respond within thirty days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
11. Changes to this policy
Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and where the change affects an active participant or donor relationship we will notify affected individuals directly.
