Terms of Service

These terms govern use of this website, registration for Foundation events and courses, and the distribution and reuse of our educational and archival materials.

Last updated: January 2026

1. Acceptance

By using this website or registering for a Foundation activity you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or register for activities. These terms do not limit any rights you hold under applicable Puerto Rico or United States federal law.

2. Purpose of the site

This website exists to publish the Foundation's mission, programmes, governance record, technical guidance and archival material, and to allow the public to contact us, register for activities and offer participation. It is an informational and educational service, not a commercial platform.

3. Technical guidance is not a professional commission

Our published guidance, survey drawings, condition notes and seminar materials are educational reference documents describing general practice and observed conditions. They are not construction documents, not a structural certification, and not a substitute for engagement of a licensed architect or professional engineer for your specific property. Any intervention on a real structure must be designed, permitted and inspected in accordance with applicable codes by licensed professionals. The Foundation accepts no liability for work performed on the basis of general guidance without professional design.

4. Event and course registration

Registration is personal and, where capacity is limited, non-transferable without notice to us. Free registration does not guarantee a seat after the published start time. We may photograph or record public activities for archival and educational purposes; if you do not wish to appear, tell staff at the start of the activity and we will accommodate the request. Participants in field activities must follow safety instructions, and we may end a participant's involvement where instructions are disregarded.

5. Use of educational and archival material

Published guidance documents, route sheets, seminar recordings and archive records may be downloaded, printed, quoted and reproduced for teaching, study, community advocacy and non-commercial research, provided that the Foundation is credited and that the material is not altered in a way that misrepresents its findings. Commercial republication, resale, inclusion in a paid product, or use in marketing material requires prior written permission. Third-party photographs, drawings and interview recordings may carry separate restrictions noted on the record itself.

6. Submissions

By submitting research, drawings, photographs or community proposals you confirm that you hold the necessary rights and that publication will not infringe anyone else's rights. You grant the Foundation a non-exclusive, perpetual licence to store, catalogue, publish and reproduce the submission for educational and archival purposes, with attribution. You retain your own copyright. We may decline or remove a submission that is inaccurate, unlawful, or outside our documentary scope.

7. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, interfere with the site's operation, scrape it in a manner that degrades service, misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or use our name, logo or materials to imply an endorsement or partnership that does not exist.

8. Third-party links and embeds

This site links to and embeds third-party resources, including mapping services. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content or their own data practices.

9. Availability and accuracy

We work to keep published information accurate and current, but the site and the archive are provided on an as-is basis without warranty of uninterrupted availability or freedom from error. Records describe conditions observed on a specific date and may not reflect the present state of a structure. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Foundation is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site or its materials.

10. Contributions

Contributions support the general or designated purposes stated at the time of giving and are, once processed, non-refundable except where a processing error has occurred. Contact us promptly if you believe a contribution was processed in error.

11. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and applicable United States federal law. We may revise these terms; the revised version takes effect when posted on this page with an updated date, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
