Public Education & Youth Workshops

A twelve-week course for secondary students covering scaled drawing, site observation, basic structure, and the history of their own neighbourhood's building types. Students finish by producing a measured drawing of a real structure, which is reviewed by our staff and, when it meets archive standards, accessioned into the public record under the student's name.

Free public walks through Old San Juan, Santurce, Ponce and Miramar, led by architects and historians. Each walk follows a published route sheet with drawings and dates, so participants can repeat it independently or use it in a classroom.

Working sessions where residents map what they need on their own street — shade, drainage, seating, safe crossings, ground-floor uses — and are supported by volunteer architects in turning it into a drawn, costed proposal that can be submitted to a municipal office.

Student exhibitions, archive showings and an evening lecture series held in partnership with libraries, schools and municipal cultural offices. All programming is bilingual and free to attend.
